I am a Proud EV Owner!

I am now the proud owner of Vectrix Scooter as well as a position on the Tesla waiting list. My scooter will be delivered on Tuesday of this week -- about 2 weeks earlier than promised. My wait for this was only about 5 days. As for the Tesla, I did put down the large deposit and I am assured my place in line -- about number 900. This means, my car is scheduled for delivery in July of 2009. I should have a few good months of driving here in New England before I have to put it away for the winter. Read More »

Whipping Out the Wallet...

Back from my west coast trip. My tour of Tesla and my test ride (they would not let me drive - insurance issues) made it clear to me that I will be getting the Tesla -- but delivery will still be about a year away. Read More »

I am headed down to the Silicon Valley area in a couple of weeks to hopefully settle on an EV. I have several appointments setup for interviews, but also test driving a couple of cars. Read More »

One of the two pure EVs available today in the US (not counting Tesla which has a 15 month waiting list) is the "NmG" by MyersMotors (http://www.myersmotors.com/). This is really cool looking personal transportation vehicle that comes in just about any color imaginable. If you want attention, you will get it with this guy! Read More »

Looking at one of the few available electric cars on the market today, http://www.zapworld.com now offers a product called the "Xebra", a dorky (dorky is the new cool) looking electric car with what appears to be technology from the 70's. But hey, it is an electric car available today, in the USA. Read More »

I forgot to mention that I do have quite a bit of money to spend -- assuming it is the right car and it is worth it. Enter the hot Tesla. Read More »

My Needs

I am a 36 year old father of two young children (8+7 year olds) and husband. We are, by statistical account, pretty much your typical American family. My wife is a homemaker and drives our kids around all day after school, and I have an office 5 miles away from my home. Read More »
