I was inspired to start converting an EV when I say a television news item about two guys at Goolwa South Australia who had successfully converted their own cars to electric drive.....

I live in Adelaide, South Australia.

I am married and the father of two adult children and the the grandfather of one handsome little boy (Jack). Of course, he takes after his grandfather!

My backgound is 34 years in PMG/Telecom/Telstra in the Radio Instruments, PC Repair and then IT Departments.
I then became redundant from Telstra and worked selling nuts and bolts for four and a half years in a builders hardware store:Sassafras Agencies... mention my name to get a good discount!
I am now working from home in the world of electronics and websites
( www.kestar.com.au and www.webpageoz.com ).

I am currently converting a 1985 Holden Barina (Suzuki Swift) to electric drive.
I am using an ADC X91-4001 motor at 120V Lithium Iron Phosphate cells.
I am hoping to use a Kelly controller and I have tested the charging of the LiFePo4 cells with a Zivan NG3 system.
I am nearly ready to install the motor as soon as the final metalwork is completed. I hope that is very soon! Hopefully next week...
January 19, 2010: All metal work now completed and delivered. Just waiting on the "engine" lifter to put it all in the car.
January 25. 2010: The motor etc is in the car. Next major item is the battery frame.
