I come from a construction background and am currently a building maintenance supervisor for a local school district.
I have converted and currently drive a 1986 Ford Ranger Pickup to electric. I does highway speeds and goes aprox 40 miles. Very dependable for short trips or to neighboring towns.
I have installed solar panels on my shop and on a tracker. Almost energy independent here except it is a grid ties system with my electric truck as a battery backup.
I have became interested in EV's and alternative energy since the last gas price peak of 2008. Global warming is not my motivation. Being a captive audience is.
