Just a few comments relative to July 17th podcast.

if a car cost 14,000 pounds in the UK it will cost $28,000 or more in the US. The exchange rate $2+ per UK pound.

A fuel cell car is an electric car. The fuel cell cars do have tail pipes. Hot air and water comes out of the tail pipes. That is why some people are confused about electric cars with tail pipes.

The two most exciting photovoltaic companies are Sunpower (SPWR) and Nanosolar both located in the Silicon valley.  If you are in Los Angeles I would try to look at Spectrolab.

For up-and-coming Solar companies, I would throw Heliovolt ( http://www.heliovolt.net/ ) from here in Austin in the mix as well- they garnered almost as much funding as Nanosolar this last year.  They are also a thin-film solar company, and their main goal is to integrate their product into building materials.  For solar thermal power generation, I would look at Ausra ( http://www.ausra.com/ ), who just opened up a plant in Nevada, although they are more appropriate for utilties than for the home user wanting to power his brand new Tesla with his own renewable resource;-)

Bo,

   Evergreen Solar is right here in Massachusetts and a significant player in the field of Solar PV.  Also, Solectria is right here in Massachusetts and they make inverters for solar panels.  Their president used to make EVs.
