Whoa! Brian Howell seems like a nice guy, and I wish them success- but getting a simple answer out of him is not an easy process- as they say, he could talk the hind leg off a donkey;-) And their site seems a bit hard to navigate as well, but here is the one mentioned: http://www.electric-bikes.com/And here is the link for the Tron EV, which is kinda cool: http://www.thunderstruck-ev.com/records.htm
FIAT unvieled a couple of EV's at the Sao Paulo Motor Show (Sao Paulo is in Brazil by the way, not California;-) including the following concept car: http://www.4wheelsnews.com/2008-sao-paulo-motor-show-fiat-concept-car-fcc-ii/and the Fiat/KWO collaboration, the Fiat Palio Electrico, at: http://www.greencar.com/features/fiat-palio/
And here is the link mentioned by Michael, our fellow listener from the Czech Republic, on the NiMH batteries available for current EV usage: http://www.pluginconversions.com/phevs1.html

Link to a short story on the AFS Trinity/LA Car Show spat: http://gas2.org/2008/11/09/150-mpg-hybrid-suv-company-claims-it-is-being-muzzled/#more-1246
The AFS Trinity site is: http://www.afstrinity.com/xh.htm
While AFS is probably exagerating the 150 mpg claim a bit, it does also seem like th LA Auto Show was a little harsh with them as well, and was not willing to compromise in order to get this type of technology out for the consumer to see.
That Cycle car also comes in a gas version though I think it makes a pretty decent chassis for a LEV.
