Fun show guys! Apologies for the rubbish skype connection.

One thing, I know I was tired (it was 7am for me) but I sound really slow there. Did you slow my voice down by any chance? Hmm? I sound like I'm on valium.

As always, I enjoyed listening to Gav- I eagerly await the Kiwi-EV-2 project;-)  Good video on the Volt- thanks for the link Dag- again, it was an encouraging piece on the Volt itself, even as there are concerns that GM will make to 2010.

Don't knock CR for not getting 100 mpg with the Prius- what they do, however, is fairly compare the two so you have some idea of how one will perform compared to the original Prius.  You could get better or worse mileage the CR did, but their tests are consistant for comparative results.

Faux Pas from downunder Australia...eechs.

It would be great to hear an interview with someone who has retrofit their Prius to be a pluggin.   I would like to know how well they collect kinetic energy?  I have about a 1000 foot grade I drive up and down every day.   With my stock Prius it charges the 4kwh battery by the time it is 20% down the grade.   How much more energy could I grab with a retrofit prius?   I believe the regen is performed not at the wheels where the brakes are located but just through the spinning of the electric motor/generator by the drive train.  Maybe a factor in whether or not you get the 100 plus is how well you coast vs brake during the first 35 miles.  Maybe the regen varies based on the new programing of the control module?

If you drive less than 30 miles between charges how could you not have 100 plus miles for gallon!!!

I doubt the regen is that efficient with a prius.

Fred
