[1:11:20] Joe was planing to do the Thanksgiving show on the history of electric speed, but at the last minute I had a chance to talk to Chip Gribben, a National Electric Drag Racing Association board member, and so I am leaving the history of electric speed record holders for another day and decided to give you all a Thanksgiving day treat and talk to Chip Gribben about what he has contributed to electric racing and the EV community.

Chip is organizer and chief of the Power of DC electric drag racing and autocross event near Washington, DC.  We talk about the 10 years that he has been involved in organizing the event, the early days, the importance of Shawn Lawless to the event and the crazy engineered vehicles that Shawn has put together and the record he holds. We talk about how the event really attracts a lot of attention from high school teams and how there have been a few university teams that have come and participated and a few have gone home with NEDRA world records.

Chip lets us know what got him involved in electric vehicles and how he managed to win his way into the hearts of the electric drag racing community. Enough to get him a spot on the board of directors. Can you say artist?

Chip and I share in accomplishments as well as influences on the EV community in subtile and yet profound ways. Can you say artist? You may be wearing something designed by Chip or your car maybe sporting a Chip Gibben design.

We share interesting experiences and fun adventure stories. Come on in and take a listen.
