Unfortunately, free energy devices do not exist. If they did they would not sell them to the public, but attach them to the grid and make real money. However, they are fun to watch.
Nikola Tesla wrote about using the earth as a electrical grid, I don't know if he made a mistake on this one or not. However, electric companies would not be able to sell you power and you could steal it from the earth. "Strange life of Nicole Tesla" good read.

At least with the Canadian inventor, while some have hinted at the idea of a perpetual motion machine, others have speculated that he, at the least, may have stumbled onto a way to make motors more efficient. The Australian Inventors claim a bit more, though not free energy, but harnessing the energy inherent in permanent magnets. I am afraid the science gets a bit fuzzy at this point however- although I am certainly not a scientist, and there may be some strange properties in this universe of ours- but, as I may have mentioned before, I will take this with an enormous granule of sodium chloride;-)
Paul couldn't agree with you more. After reading the link you provided about the motor mystery--gaining rpm's when loads are shorted and having decreased amp draw-- and seeing the last response from a gentleman named Lorrie Matchett who is a engineer who has worked with electric motors in the industry It looks kind of like what he said about the vaccumm cleaner. By placing your hand over the vac nozzle you've provided max load-which causes the motor to increase rpm's and draw less amps.
In regards to the unity motor from Australia I have followed them for couple of years and have come to the conclusion that lutec is mostly smoke. The site on the internet has had that rolling message across the home page saying they are in negotiations for technology transfer for quite a while.
Something seems about to break in the EEstor and it might be wise to buy some stock in Zenn and Lockheed.
I've seen a few videos on "Free Energy" and "Magnetic Motors" and even "Multiplying Electricity" !!! It is sad, but these should all be seen as pure entertainment; they are totally fraudulent.
It seems there is always a supply of people who like to impress everyone with their astounding claims...they are often asking for money to develop their "invention"... they get away too easily because journalists are often unsure of the background science...and they love these stories, which could indeed revolutionise the world if true !!!
A permanent magnet isn't a continuous souce of energy, any more than gravity is. These pseudo-scientists are a perpetual source of confusion. LOL !

Just found this comment concerning the Australians' invention !! LOL !!
So far they have not received a Nobel Prize yet but they have been awarded the 2001 Skeptics Bent Spoon award (presented to the "perpetrator of the most preposterous piece of pseudoscientific piffle") at the Australian Skeptics National Convention in Brisbane on November 10, 2001. The Skeptics Society's engineer, Ian Bryce, concluded that their generator, claimed to produce 30 times more output than input, and slated to solve the world's energy crisis, actually has an output 33% of its input.
