"120 Counts of Aerodynamic drag"

This is about drag coefficient or Cd.

0.330 = typical car
0.290 = Prius
0.195 = EV1

For the sake of argument.  Let's assume the Cd of the Volt concept was 0.420 and then lost 120 Counts of drag (0.120).  Then the production car would have a Cd of 0.300.

They are being a little tricky.  What we would like to know is the Cd of the production Volt.  But they are not telling us that.  They are only telling the difference between the Concept Volt and the Production Volt.

BYD might come out with an EV first (might)- and it might go further (might)- but thus far, cars from China have not been very good- they make me think "Yugo, the next generation."

Wow!  The GM Volt wait list is now up to 103,000 interested  buyers!  Okay- just kidding!  It is, however, up to 36670 as of Thursday night, so they have added about 3000 since the news story last week.

About the 'expected' launch date from the GM Volt commercial- the comercial was probably done weeks, or even months, ago- probably when they were behind schedule 10 weeks, so perhaps they were more cautious at the time of the making of the commercial.

And, lastly, after growing up in Houston, I can understand Rick's concern for an NEV- after all, most of them are about the size of a Texas Armadillo, and our highways are littered with them after run-ins with Texas-sized pickup trucks;-)

Chevy Volt

    OK, so according to GM-VOLT the 6 additional miles will allow the Volt to meet the 40 mile electric only range.

BYD is really a good car manufacturer and unfortunately for GM, they might get beaten. BYD creates quality parts such as bumpers and hoods for their cars.
