I would encourage any motorist to avoid the Reva (aka G-Wiz) like the plague.

Not only are they odd-looking low speed vehicles, but you'd actually be safer by running over wet rocks wearing flip-flops. For example: http://nz.youtube.com/watch?v=R11vf9IHNYc

These little cars get around the safety restrictions by being registered in the UK as a "Quadracycle" and not a car.

I'm opposed to these vehicles because they are simply death traps and they do nothing to break the Clown Car image that EVs have.

You are probably wondering where I am. I probably won't overtake Briggs on the 2nd, 200th episode awards for most avid listener.  I am taking a little hiatus from this podcast to try and figure out the financial markets, the cause of great depression, and where to invest.   But, as all the new EVs are coming out in 2010 won't miss too much.  Some interesting things to listen to on youtube include Jim Rogers, Peter Schiff, Marc Faber, ...   Will be back full force in about 1 month.

KiwiEV  (Gav I assume),

Great video on the G-Wiz.  That was so funny.  I wonder if they actually had a driver in the G-Wiz when they crashed it into the table?

But the table didn't budge.  I wonder if the table was bolted down.

To your larger point, I think safe vehicles are important.  Even SUV's which everyone thinks are so safe, seem to roll-over at the slightest provocation.  We had a gentleman killed recently in our area when his BMW SUV rolled on the highway.  I am sure if the BMW had stayed on all four wheels, he would have walked away.

However, there is some question as to whether or not he was wearing his seat belt.  Remember to buckle-up people.  We need to keep you alive until 2010 so you can see the EV revolution.

Thanks
John C. Briggs

In fairness to the G-Wiz it should be noted that the structural safety of the car has been greatly improved since that somewhat-rigged TV show footage aired.

A more up-to-date crash video can be seen here.

good points by Mr Podesser..Well, I would just like to comment on the $6000 Chinese Electric Vehicle..This car may be even cheaper in China because they really produce cheap car parts in their country..I just don't know if the parts of this electric vehicle has high quality..lol..
