Ryan, I am disappointed that you didn't mention this article.
http://www.marketwatch.com/news/story/Leo-Motors-Inc-Files-Three/story.aspx?guid={0620FBC2-C2FB-4261-B3EA-02CEB2323F7A}
LEO motors is patenting a wind powered car. Sounds like once they have the car up to speed, the windmill on the car can keep it going. Excellent Excellent. Why aren' t the big car companies jumping all over this? Is there some conspiracy?

Hmm. They're missing the boat if they aren't also capturing all that lost energy from the shocks. In fact, they could use that energy to power fans that could then blow on the wind generator to keep it going further!

I hate to see the casualties of this economy, especially in a sector that can help and grow the economy in the long run. The article says the Norwegian government is not inclined to help them at this point- big mistake for them. I think you are right Bo, about another company stepping to take over, and then Norway will have lost a potential homerun of a company in a growth industry. For an example, while I am glad as an American that Ausra, the Solar Thermal Power company, moved here from Australia because of lack of funding, you know it has got to just chap their hides down under, that the Australian Government let this one get away.
You can see the Xtreme Green motorcycle at their web site: http://xtremegreenproducts.com/xtreme_products/electric_motorcycle.php
And the Zero Emotors Bolt moped, along with their other mopeds and scooters at: http://www.zeroemotor.com/
This includes a $900 Electric Moped that is more akin to the ZAP Moped, but for about 20% of the cost.
We seem to be seeing more EV Motorcycles being announced- I think this makes really good sense- you can develop and produce these for a whole lot less than a highway-speed car, and sell it for a fraction of an EV car. By getting a lot of these on the road, you can really start to show more and more people what an EV is up close, which makes for a much better impact than just reading about EV's.
