A Copper alloy is generally sprayed on to block EMF because it is lighter weight than lead. BTW, wouldn't the lead acid batteries themselves provide sufficient lead shielding.

Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning are the original founders/engineers behind Tesla Motors. Elon Musk only invested into the company. I understand he had 51 % stake in Tesla early on.
