Oops. I was wrong with one of my chat comments (I know... that like NEVER happens). Tesla has no plans to retrofit any of the cars with the new J1772 connector. They will phase in the new connector during production when it is available - but have no plans to retrofit the S or the Roadster.

Something tells me that there will HAVE to be an adapter made available at some point, however!

What is not available from Tesla will probably go aftermarket. The I-Pod aftermarket products come to mind.
