It almost makes me wish I lived in California- well, except for that whole earth-shaking, mud-sliding, brush-fire, rolling-blackout thing y'all have going.
The Aptera is my second-favorite future EV, behind the Persu (formerly VentureOne), but the Aptera is a whole lot closer to reality- I hope they make it.

And EV's to the Post Office- I was a Letter Carrier for the Post Office for 14 years- but left 8 years ago to do tech support- how ironic if my former co-workers get to drive an EV before me:-(

Thanks for the photos & videos!
I was all set to go that evening but strained my back that day and had to stay home :(
a couple things I noticed;
• it looks like the rear hatch swings to one side...was it ever opened?
• the amber light on the back of the wheel...nacelle(?) seems like it'd reduce drivers night vision abilities
• Seems like the air duct on passenger side juts out into doorway; does it? or just an optical illusion?
Did Aptera mention pack sizes, cell mfgr or any technical stuff?

Ross. They didn't open up the rear hatch. I think they did not open them because they currently open up sideways as you deduced but I believe they plan to switch things such that they open up like traditional hatchbacks. So they didn't want to confuse people by having them open in manner different than the current plan.
Paul & Ross, I highly recommend visiting ApteraForum.com. It is a message board that is filled with most information you'll find about the Aptera. (More info than even Aptera's own sites.)
I think batteries are still too expensive to build normal-car-like EVs. Thus, the only way to make cost-effective EVs is to either make them very light & efficient (like the Aptera) or make Plug-In hybrids (like the Volt). Long range pure EVs like the Tesla Roadster are impractical for now . . . they are just toys for the wealthy.
