Hi guys (& MISS Electric! :-) I enjoyed your latest podcast. I truly hope Aptera is sincere that they will NOT be building cars (or any parts) in China for the US market. In the long run, the loss of quality control will be far more expensive than manufacturing Aptera here in the states. I know this is true based upon personal experience.
As for job creation, this is where our tax dollars would be well spent in creating educational programs at various colleges and technical schools to train the many mechanics who will need to learn about new technologies to support the EV industry. Automakers will hopefully also plan for this, developing in-house strategies that will soon bring new jobs to replace the ones being lost. There's no time like the present for organizing this change.
Others who will be severely affected are those selling and distributing auto parts. Perhaps they'll switch over to electric car sales, because these newly created positions are sure to be high in demand!
Regards from your EV optimist, Trudee

Bo,
Great Podcast.

Looks like Aptera is getting into the oil business.
Two words for you, "Quality Control".
When you have a Q&A, don't shift the answers by 2 seconds so they overlap the questions and are then inaudible. Guess I better stick to the Saturday and Thursday EV casts where they know what they are doing.
I see what you mean and have corrected the audio file. John, can't tell you are being serious or just being sarcastic... but if you are being serious, wow.
Well, I was going for sarcastic, but seems like I shouldn't do that in the future as I am apparently not very good at it.
What I meant to say was, great interviews, particularly Aptera. Thanks for all your hard work.
Later
I figured that. As I am an expert in sarcasm, here are a few things you could have said that would make it look more like sarcasm and less a comment from the "MotorDik" (see his blog on this site)
Hey Bo, Great feedback, I especially like how you tell your commenters what to say and how to say it. That keeps this thinking to a minimum on my end, and God know I need that.
Enjoyed the podcast today guys and gal!
Good interviews, especially with Marques from Aptera- perhaps there is still some hope for them to succeed after all- hope so;-)
Envision Motors to use Sodium Nickel Chrolide batteries? Since when has this type of battery been usuable in an EV now? You have to have very high heat (over 300 degrees) just to keep the battery from solidifying.
The Nissan Leaf lease for 349$ is an amazing price for consumers- this will allow the Leaf to come into the market much more quickly- I agree- very smart of Nissan.
ecolocap.com- just ignore them- this is the same company that has been touting the Mfuel and the CNT battery for years- they have no substance, just a lot of self-testing and ZAP-like press releases- SCAM.
Pshaw! You Bo and John really need to work on your sarcasm- to wit, I see very little wit betwixt the two of you, and can only hope for a full wit between the two of you.
;-)
Hey Paul, I may have missed it there, but was that supposed to be wit or sarcasm? or did you just need to find a way to insert "betwixt" into a sentence for the triple word score?
Nice show. In regards to nissan vs. nissan $500,000 might be too low. porker.com misspelling sold for $155,000 to get poker traffic. Rumored poker.com went for $22 million.billberggrensex.com $12 million and stock optionsbusiness.com - $7.5 million (1999)casino.com - $5.5 million (Oct 2003)Korea.com - $5 millionasseenontv.com - $5 millionaltavista.com - $3.25 millionLoans.com - $3 millionWine.com - $3 million
Just trying to broaden y'all's humerous offerings into a more mult-faceted comedic reportoire (whew! had to spell-check that one;-)
EMC is obviously getting LOGAN MCV gliders from Renault/DACIA
