I know your pain. It's hard living with a wife who's unemployed. Women are curious creatures at the best of times. I just know I'm gonna get in trouble for that.
And yes Ryan, Whakapapa is the correct spelling. It basically means "An [important] Place" in Maori. It always gets a giggle or two from overseas guests. No one bats an eye saying it here however. There's also whakatane and whakarewarewa. Whaka is a particle, not a separate word and can't be used as a standalone word.
I don't know what electric car is in Maori however...
I live in California and will keep my ears open for ev soundbites or even newspaper clippings. It is hard to believe there is actually a 50% chance there will be ev's and the volts on the road within the next 5 years. I will believe it when I see one. Just kidding. Bill Berggren
