Well, who says there are no good EVs. Check out what Dr. Briggs found at Ellen's EV Emporium. Sure all the vehicles have limits of range or price or availability, but all are real passanger vehicles.
* note that the prices for the Force and RAV4 EVs came from recent sales on ebay motors.
